The Mission: Sustaining System Resilience in Extreme Environments
StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a Principal Electrical Systems Architect to spearhead the evolution of high-reliability power and control hardware. This role is not merely about circuit design; it is a mission to engineer hardware capable of maintaining absolute structural integrity within high-stakes, harsh-environment applications. You will be tasked with bridging the gap between theoretical electromagnetic physics and physical deployment, ensuring that complex analog-digital hybrid systems survive and thrive under rigorous thermal, electrical, and radiation-induced stressors.
Core Technical Objectives
Orchestrate the comprehensive hardware lifecycle, translating abstract mission requirements into robust system architectures that endure from initial synthesis through long-term field sustainment.
Engineer sophisticated analog and digital hardware solutions, utilizing high-fidelity simulation and iterative verification to ensure performance in electromagnetically noisy or extreme-temperature environments.
Formalize technical documentation and architectural blueprints, defending design integrity during high-level peer reviews and stakeholder technical audits.
Optimize the Goal-Execution-Mapping (GEM) of each project by navigating the multi-dimensional trade-offs between system performance, budgetary constraints, and mission-critical risk mitigation.
Validate system resilience through hands-on forensic troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, supporting legacy infrastructure and modern manufacturing pipelines alike.
Synthesize team capabilities by mentoring junior engineering talent and contributing technical rigor to project proposals and strategic human capital growth.
Candidate DNA
Academic Foundation: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is mandatory; a Master of Science (MSEE) is highly preferred for candidates specializing in complex system synthesis.
Power Electronics Mastery: Deep functional expertise in high-speed switching and power conversion using wide-bandgap semiconductors (SiC, GaN) as well as traditional MOSFET and IGBT topologies.
Signal & Control Theory: Advanced proficiency in Z-domain analysis and coordinate transformation (Clark/Park) to drive precision motor control and sensor integration (LVDT, Resolver, Encoder).
Environmental & Regulatory Rigor: Proven track record of designing for compliance within strict aerospace or defense frameworks (e.g., MIL-STD, DO-160) regarding EMI/EMC, power quality, and atmospheric resilience.
Analytical Depth: Expertise in executing Worst-Case and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), accounting for component aging, thermal dissipation, and radiation-induced effects (TID/SEU).
Interface Logic: Mastery of standard and high-speed communication protocols, ranging from legacy serial buses (RS-232/485) to high-bandwidth 10G Ethernet and PCIe architectures.
Toolchain Proficiency: Expert-level command of industry-standard simulation and layout suites (e.g., SPICE-based modeling, MATLAB/Simulink, and advanced EDA tools for high-voltage PWB design).
