Salary: $75,000 - $85,000
Are you an experienced Project Accountant looking for a hybrid opportunity with a growing team in Olathe, KS? We are seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support project financial performance from contract setup through project completion. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in project accounting, construction accounting, job costing, financial reporting, budgeting, invoicing, and project financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain project and contract information within the project accounting system.
- Review contracts, purchase orders, work orders, and project documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Partner with Project Managers to monitor project budgets, forecasts, earned value analysis, and Estimate-to-Complete (ETC) reporting.
- Support invoicing, collections, accounts payable coding, timesheet reviews, and expense audits.
- Analyze project financial data, identify discrepancies, and ensure accurate reporting.
- Monitor subcontractor billing approvals and compliance requirements.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations for leadership and project review meetings.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and clients to support project success and healthy cash flow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field and 4-6 years of relevant experience; OR 8-10 years of project accounting experience in lieu of a degree.
- Construction project accounting experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and job cost analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
