Staff Management Group is seeking a Security Guard for our client in Hillside, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.
Schedule:
- 3rd Shift 10PM - 6:30AM
- Monday - Friday
- Plus Overtime
Pay Rate:
- $18 - $21 / hour
Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an Overnight Security Guard who will be responsible for protecting, safeguarding, and securing assets, personnel, customers, tenants, visitors, and other people and property on our grounds.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor entrances, exits, and facility access.
- Check in and check out visitors, contractors, and truck drivers.
- Monitor inbound and outbound trailers.
- Perform yard checks and trailer inspections.
- Use the Yard Management System (YMS) to track trailer movements.
- Complete daily security reports and documentation.
- Monitor security cameras and facility activity.
- Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies.
- Communicate with employees, supervisors, and drivers using radios and cell phones.
- Follow all safety, GMP, food safety, and security procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Security, warehouse, shipping, receiving, logistics, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Experience using tablets or iPads.
- Ability to learn YMS and other company systems.
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.
- Good communication skills for radio and cell phone use.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
