Job Title: Sr Payroll Coordinator

Position Type: Contract for 5 Months

Location: Irving, TX (HYBRID)

Job Summary:

One of our clients is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sr Payroll Coordinator to support payroll operations and ensure accurate, timely processing of employee compensation. This role will work closely with Payroll Management, Accounting, HR, Benefits, and external payroll vendors to maintain payroll accuracy, compliance, and reporting functions.

The ideal candidate will have strong payroll processing experience in a multi-employee environment, excellent analytical skills, and hands-on experience with payroll systems, preferably Dayforce.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing & Administration

• Process semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll for approximately 450 employees, including exempt and non-exempt staff
• Audit payroll data including new hires, terminations, employee updates, and payroll changes
• Review and validate timesheets from the time management system
• Prepare manual payroll checks and adjustments as needed
• Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of federal, state, and Social Security withholdings
• Reconcile payroll reports and financial data
• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure timely payroll processing

Compliance, Policy Interpretation & System Administration

• Interpret and apply company payroll policies including vacation, leave of absence (LOA), disability, workers’ compensation, and withholding exemptions
• Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll laws and regulations
• Stay current on payroll compliance updates and regulatory changes
• Assist with audits, tax filings, workers’ compensation documentation, and internal payroll reviews
• Document payroll processes and procedures as required
• Serve as liaison between employees and third-party payroll vendors
• Configure and maintain payroll system tables including earnings, deductions, garnishments, and time management settings

Reporting & Vendor Coordination

• Support payroll reporting for Accounting, HR, and Benefits teams on a payroll, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Create and upload payroll tax and direct deposit files to external vendors

Projects & Process Improvements

• Participate in payroll-related projects and continuous process improvement initiatives
• Assist Payroll Management with miscellaneous assignments and special projects

Required Qualifications:

• Experience processing payroll in a multi-employee environment
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax withholdings, and compliance requirements
• Excellent attention to detail and reconciliation skills
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Proficiency with payroll systems and time management platforms

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Dayforce Payroll System
• Experience supporting payroll audits and reporting functions
• Knowledge of payroll tax file processing and vendor coordination

• Hybrid work schedule based in Irving, TX
• Contract opportunity for 5 months with possibility of extension based on business needs.
