Location: Berkeley, CA (Onsite highly preferred, can be remote during contract then relocate)
Key Responsibilities
Lead the architecture, design, and development of electrical and electronic systems.
Develop schematics, PCB designs, and system-level electrical solutions.
Perform circuit analysis, simulation, testing, debugging, and validation.
Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, software, manufacturing, and quality teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Define technical requirements, review designs, and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product issues.
Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, product quality, and reliability.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across projects.
Support product qualification, regulatory compliance, and certification activities.
Interface with suppliers and customers to resolve technical challenges as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
10 years of experience in electrical engineering, product development, or hardware design.
Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, embedded systems, or high-speed digital design (based on product requirements).
Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or OrCAD.
Proficiency with laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and spectrum analyzers.
Familiarity with EMC/EMI, safety, and regulatory standards.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Proven ability to lead complex engineering projects and influence technical direction.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in automotive, aerospace, medical devices, industrial automation, consumer electronics, or semiconductor industries.
Knowledge of FPGA, embedded firmware, or RF design is a plus.
Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), and reliability engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or advanced technical certifications are advantageous.
