Pay: $38.46 to $40.87/hour

Experience: Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or in a comparable senior kitchen leadership role.

Education: AOS Culinary Arts degree or equivalent culinary training required.

Type: Full-time; Temp-to-hire

Schedule: Flexible scheduling required, including weekends and holidays to accommodate business levels.

Staffing Solutions of Hawaii is seeking a Chef de Cuisine to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description

• Oversee high-volume food production, ensuring quality, consistency, efficiency, and professionalism.
• Develop, edit, and implement menus, recipes, and new food service programs.
• Manage food costing, menu mix, labor budgets, inventory, and overall kitchen expenses.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation standards and ensure compliance with safe food handling practices.
• Manage order guides, master prep lists, shrink logs, and other kitchen control systems.
• Hire, train, coach, counsel, and evaluate cooks, kitchen helpers, and department staff.
• Create and manage kitchen staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient labor utilization.
• Monitor food quality, production standards, portion control, and waste reduction.
• Maintain accurate kitchen records and utilize spreadsheets, databases, and word-processing programs for administrative tasks.
• Maintain regular, predictable attendance and demonstrate flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
  
  

Position Requirements

• Knowledge of food service sanitation and safe food handling practices.
• Experience hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and conducting performance evaluations for kitchen staff.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, databases, and general office equipment.
• Strong knowledge of food costing, menu mix, menu engineering, labor budgeting, and inventory control.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business needs require.
• Reliable, regular, and predictable attendance required.
