Role Details: Batch Operator
Type: Full-time, onsite
Schedule: Friday to Sunday, 5am to 6:30pm
Pay Rate: $18.00 1.55 shift differential
Location: Niles, IL
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Batcher who ensures consistency, accuracy, and quality in every mix. If you take pride in following formulas, adjusting processes to minimize waste, and keeping production on track, this role is for you.
Batching & Mixing Operations
Operate mixers, scales, timers, and related systems to prepare accurate batches.
Pre-scale and prepare minor ingredients, premixes, and manually scaled items.
Verify formulas, weights, and labeling to ensure compliance with production standards.
Adjust formulas within given parameters to maintain product quality and reduce waste.
Control temperature and consistency during the batching process.
Review batching schedule and SCADA system for accuracy and changes.

Make sound quality decisions within defined parameters to prevent sub-standard mixes.
Participate in safety, GMP, and continuous improvement teams and meetings.
Cross-Functional Support
Assist in cleaning tanks and safely handling chemicals as required.
Support other production areas as a light machine operator or general labor when trained.
Report equipment malfunctions and collaborate with maintenance or supervisors to resolve issues.
Experience and Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in food processing.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
Strong understanding of basic food safety and associate safety practices.
Knowledge of computer systems and ability to operate batching programs.
Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity for operating mixers and handling ingredients.
Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
Ability to adapt in fast-paced environments and make quality decisions under pressure.
Desire to operate as part of a self-directed work team and contribute to improvement initiatives.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk, stand, climb, reach, stoop, bend, grasp, and move throughout the facility daily.
Work in high-noise areas with required PPE (hearing/vision protection).
Must be able to lift, push/pull mixing bowls up to 55 lbs.
Exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and bakery ingredients.
Able to work in multi-shift environments and handle potentially hazardous equipment or materials
Plant conditions vary, with temperature fluctuations, noise, and a dynamic pace.

Type: Full time role onsite
Schedule: Monday to Thursday 4pm-2:30am
Pay Rate: $17.50 1.00 shift differential
Location: Niles, IL
The Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up and changing equipment based upon product need, while adhering to all food safety and food quality guidelines
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes:
Must be able to set up, change over, adjust, repair and operate all machinery/ equipment, on all shifts.
Ensure all equipment is in operating condition and ready for on time start up.
Must have the knowledge and experience to make necessary adjustments to keep products flowing consistently.
Performs process control and quality checks.
Operates date coders and verifies code dates on cases.
Observes all OSHA and facility safety rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment.
Maintains work area in a safe and orderly fashion according to GMP and Safety Guidelines.
Cleans all equipment using current sanitation practices
Assists Quality Assurance in obtaining samples of products and other miscellaneous duties.
Responsible for basic troubleshooting of all processing equipment
Accurate, timely, and legible completion of daily production reports/ documents.
Trains new associates
Performs any other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Experience and Requirements:
Basic communication in English and be able to handle repetitious tasks

2 Years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rates and percentages)
Knowledge, skills, and ability to operate computer programs as needed.
Must be proficient in SCADA system
Must be able to deal with change, pressure and exercise good judgment skills
Must have desire and ability to operate as a member of a Self-Directed work team
Must have ability to work in and contribute to Production Improvement, Associate Involvement, and Temporary Teams as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Moderate degree of physical activity
Be able to work under temperature from -30 to 176F, Where applicable, able to stand on feet for a duration of up to 13 hours, able to handle a moderate degree of physical activity including continuous standing for 10-13 hours, frequent
Daily activities include walking, standing, climbing, reaching, twisting, stooping, grasping, bending, pushing, pulling and moving about the facility.
Works in high noise area, hearing protection may be required. Hearing ability to meet Manufacturing facility safety requirements
Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral and depth perception
Requires lifting not to exceed 55 lbs.
