📌 Role Overview
The Process Engineer I is an entry-level engineering position focused on learning and supporting injection molding processes and equipment. The role builds foundational knowledge in manufacturing, quality standards, and process development while assisting daily operations and more advanced engineering activities.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Process & Technical Learning
- Develop knowledge of injection molding processes and best practices
- Learn mold design basics, part print reading, and statistical methods
- Gain experience with CIM systems, data analysis, and manufacturing quality
- Quality & Compliance
- Understand and follow ISO 9001, ISO 13485, OSHA, and FDA GMP regulations
- Ensure safety of personnel, equipment, and customer property
- Support validation and qualification processes according to SOPs
- Process Development & Troubleshooting
- Assist with new mold/tool qualifications
- Help establish stable, capable processes meeting customer specs
- Identify and resolve tooling, machine, or quality issues
- Operations Support
- Participate in MRB (Material Review Board) activities for non-conformance resolution
- Support maintenance in equipment testing and repairs
- Provide technical support and training to operators and technicians
- Work off-shift periodically to strengthen troubleshooting skills
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work with senior engineers (Level II/III) for mentorship
- Engage with vendors and customers during audits and projects
- Identify process improvement opportunities
- Contribute to equipment evaluation and vendor selection
- Project Exposure
- Assist in project planning and execution from start to finish
- Contribute input on quoting, design reviews, and machine selection

- Reports to: Manager of Operations
- Receives mentorship from: Process Engineers II & III
🎓 Requirements
- Education: Associate’s degree in mechanical or technical field (required)
- Experience:Injection molding experience (preferred, ~2 years)
- Basic knowledge of molds, design, and print reading (required)
- Skills (Preferred):Programming (C, PLC Ladder Logic)
- Basic statistical analysis
