Seeking Essential Skills and Experience:
Operating a sheet metal and plate cutting laser skills and experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent recommended. Use and understanding of precision measuring devices.
- 5 years working in a sheet metal environment, operating computer-driven equipment. Laser programming is a plus.
- Ability to follow directions, work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to work necessary hours to complete assigned workload.
Position - 2nd Shift Laser Operator - hours: 4:30pm to 5:00am Monday through Thursday. Overtime is required. Full time position.
Reports To: Lead – Sheet Metal Prep.
Location: Spartanburg, SC
FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
Position Description
Laser A is responsible for the operation and determining of the program be used by the laser to cut sheet metal for machinery and parts.
Position Responsibilities- Essential
- Determines program to be used by the laser cutter by using computer
- Ability to read and understand blueprints/drawings
- Conducts inspections of parts electronically and physically to ensure quality
- Monitors scrap and rework to maximize materials usage
- Knowledgeable of and the ability to operate Bystronic laser equipment 6K CO2.
- Ability to perform daily maintenance on the laser
- Ability to load and unload material using overhead cranes or forklifts
- Ability to work within a team environment
Position Responsibilities- Other
- Housekeeping in area
- Follow all safety rules and regulations
- Complete understanding of sheet metal material types, thickness, i.e., gauge, decimal, fractional and metric to include
- Ability to work with limited supervision
