Senior Manufacturing Engineer

We’re on the lookout for a dynamic Sr. Manufacturing Engineer near Fenton, MI ready to make an impact in a medical manufacturing environment. What You Will Be Doing

• Lead the design and development of OEM and contract manufacturing projects from concept through production.
• Support prototyping, design risk assessments, product testing, and development activities.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes, documentation, and production methods.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap, improving efficiency, applying Lean principles, and achieving cost savings.
• Provide product design support, including GD&T, FMEA, failure mode analysis, and CAD design as needed.
• Partner closely with production teams to troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage project timelines, benchmarks, meetings, and cross-functional deliverables.
• Serve as the engineering lead for the compression molding production group and support the implementation of new manufacturing equipment.
• Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Production, and other cross-functional teams to ensure products and processes meet strict industry requirements.

What We Need From You

To be considered for this role, candidates must have the following experience and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 5 years of relevant manufacturing, process engineering, or product development experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment with hands-on involvement in production processes.
• Strong CAD experience, preferably SolidWorks.
• Experience working with an ERP system.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process development, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work directly with production teams and confidently troubleshoot problems on the manufacturing floor.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to give and receive feedback and collaborate effectively across departments.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while remaining organized and adaptable.

All-Star Skillset

The ideal candidate will also have any or all of the following preferred experience and skills:

• Compression molding experience – a major plus!
• Medical device manufacturing experience or experience working with medical-industry customers.
• Experience working with EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) or similar materials.
• CNC programming experience.
• Experience with carbon fiber, advanced foam fabrication, compression molding, coating, vacuum forming, or other specialized manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience with Global Shop Solutions or similar ERP systems.
• Experience with GD&T, FMEA, root-cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
