Currently, StaffBright has a great opportunity in the Jacksonville, FL area. We’re seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join a growing manufacturing organization. The goal of this role is to ensure accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial analysis that directly support operational decision-making and cost control within a complex manufacturing environment.
This position plays a critical role in identifying variances, analyzing profitability, and uncovering cost-saving opportunities that directly strengthen both financial performance and operational efficiency.
What You Will Be Doing
- Ensure accurate product costing and inventory valuation across manufacturing operations
- Analyze manufacturing variances, including material, labor, and overhead drivers
- Support standard costing processes and maintain accurate cost structures
- Partner directly with plant operations, engineering, and production teams to validate data and improve accuracy at the source
- Review BOMs (Bills of Materials), cycle counts, and inventory movements to ensure financial integrity
- Conduct detailed profitability and cost analysis to support business decision-making
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend operational improvements
- Support month-end close activities, including inventory reconciliation and variance reporting
- Provide financial insight that supports operational efficiency and cost control initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally to bridge the gap between accounting and plant operations
What We Need From You
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2 years of cost accounting experience - experience with inventory accounting, cycle counts, cost analysis, and variance reporting, etc.
- Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred - Must be comfortable going into the plant, validating data at the source, reviewing BOMs, and working directly with operations and engineering teams
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Plex, Epicor)
All-Star Skillset
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP principles
- Bilingual (French and/or Spanish) is a plus

Salary : $90,000 - $105,000
