StaffBright is seeking a Controller for a growing transportation and safety technology manufacturer with operations in the Pittsburgh area. This highly visible role will oversee the accounting and financial performance of three manufacturing brands within a business unit, supporting financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory, budgeting, forecasting, and overall business performance. The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing accounting experience, leadership capabilities, and a hands-on approach to driving financial accuracy and operational improvements.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes across multiple manufacturing entities
- Prepare and review financial statements, reporting packages, and management reports
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
- Partner with operations leadership to improve financial performance and support strategic decision-making
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Manage and develop a small accounting team, providing coaching and leadership
- Support audits, process improvement initiatives, and ERP-driven enhancements
- Collaborate with corporate finance leadership on business unit performance and reporting
What We Need From You
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Progressive accounting and finance experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience leading month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and inventory accounting
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with operations and executive leadership
- Willingness to travel occasionally between locations
All-Star Skillset
- CPA and/or CMA designation
- Public accounting experience
- Multi-entity or multi-site accounting experience
- ERP experience, preferably Oracle
- Cost accounting and manufacturing inventory expertise
- Experience supporting business unit or plant-level financial operations
