Job Summary
The Linen Service Specialist is responsible for restocking, inspecting, and transporting clean linen carts throughout the facilities on a daily basis. This role also involves collecting soiled linen from designated storage areas and preparing it for scheduled transport to the laundry facility.
The position requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including appearance standards. The Linen Service Specialist is expected to demonstrate strong customer service, professionalism, and respect in all interactions while supporting a clean and efficient environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Restock linen carts along assigned routes within required timeframes using approved linen distribution equipment
- Accurately count linen items and record data in linen management systems as required
- Inspect linen carts and remove items that are torn, soiled, unfolded, or otherwise not acceptable for use
- Replace reject linen bags and ensure adequate supply of soiled linen bag boxes in all carts
- Straighten and organize remaining linen to prepare carts for restocking
- Patrol assigned areas to pick up loose strings or dropped linen and dispose of them properly
- Deliver empty linen carts to designated locations as required
- Collect soiled linen bags and transport them to designated collection areas in a timely and professional manner when assigned
- Operate and maneuver linen carts and large bins safely and professionally
- Report linen shortages or operational issues to supervisors or as identified by clinical staff or hospital management
- Assist in other service areas or campuses as needed due to staffing shortages while maintaining department standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure smooth department operations

Job Type: Contract
Pay: Up to $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
