About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist/Manager to support a leading organization’s Human Resources team in Washington, DC. This temporary role focuses on managing and resolving complex workplace issues while ensuring compliance with internal policies and employment laws. The ideal candidate brings strong investigative capability, sound judgment, and exceptional communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop investigation plans, conduct thorough employee relations investigations, and prepare detailed documentation and reports.
- Use data and insights to identify workplace trends, categorize issues, and recommend practical solutions.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, HR functional leaders, Ethics & Compliance, and internal Employment Counsel as needed.
- Provide guidance on dispute resolution, problem solving, regulatory compliance, and conflict management.
- Support proactive employee relations strategies and process improvements.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding all sensitive information.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced HR-related coursework or degree preferred.
- 5 years of experience in employee relations or HR generalist roles.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Proven ability to manage a caseload of workplace investigations.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply HR policies effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work within a matrixed environment.
- High integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Proficiency with HR systems and technology, including MS Office and tools such as PeopleSoft.
Work Schedule
- Hybrid: Onsite in the Washington, DC office Tuesday – Thursday
- Work From Home: Monday & Friday
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
