Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on electrical experience in commercial construction.
- Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Previous experience with estimating software.
- Ability to interpret plans and technical documents.
- Strong multitasking skills, with the capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills for timely interactions with clients and suppliers.
- In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.
Responsibilities:
As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for a range of estimating tasks and support activities:
- Complete all aspects of electrical estimating, including the creation of Bills of Materials (BOMs), performing takeoffs, entering takeoff data, submitting Requests for Information (RFIs), and preparing proposals.
- Construct comprehensive estimates from start to finish, ensuring that all project requirements outlined in plans and specifications are considered in our bids.
- Collaborate with the senior estimator to streamline and coordinate the bidding process for each project.
- Assist in contract negotiations and review processes.
- Review the estimate with sales personnel and project managers once a contract is awarded.
- Participate in the development of budgets and schedule of values once a project is secured.
