What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Electrical Design position at Stability Technology?
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The employee shall be employed as an Electrical Designer and shall report to the Project Team, President or other executive officers as the Company shall designate. Individuals in this position are accountable for the overall execution of project work assigned to them, assuring that the project work is completed in a timely manner and under the guidance of the Project Team. The Electrical Designer must have the ability to work on several concurrent projects at any given time.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Two-year technical degree or equivalent industry experience.
- 1-4 years of experience as an Electrical Designer working with infrastructure and/or building systems.
- Shall display a thorough understanding of electrical systems design and engineering, project management, construction administration and all phases of design work.
- Experienced coordinator of systems that understands interactions required with other disciplines (i.e. mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, structural, architectural, FF&E, etc.).
- Excellent planning and organization skills.
- Knowledge of Autodesk Suite programs – Revit, AutoCAD & Navisworks are a must.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
The Electrical Designer’s immediate areas of responsibility will include, but not be limited to, entry-level electrical design engineering and design production in support of meeting project deadlines.
Responsibilities will include:
- Receives project assignments and fulfills the role of project designer.
- Supports the Project Team in maintaining and developing relationships with clients.
- Attends design team and project meetings.
- Has a complete understanding of local and national building codes and helps to interpret codes for assigned tasks.
- Checks work for technical accuracy and company standards.
- Coordinates work with clients and assists design staff with work needed.
- Communicate to the Project Team any deviations from contracted scope in a timely manner so Project Team can issue an extra services proposal prior to commencement of extra work performed by design staff.
- Recognizes potential liability problems quickly and seeks management advice.
- Performs site observations and prepares observation reports and interprets documents.
- Experienced in design and engineering of electrical systems, lighting systems, one-line riser diagrams, telecommunications/low voltage signal/security systems, and design of renewable energy systems.
- Observes and analyzes existing systems and provides for appropriate design parameters.
- Performs energy code compliance calculations.
- Reviews equipment submittals for conformance to design documents.
- Active in continuous professional development. Willingness to work and learn new scope outside current skill set. (i.e. lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunications design)
- Ability to model and detail electrical systems designs in Revit.
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
