Revenue Cycle Analyst I

The Role
The Revenue Cycle Analyst I supports core medical billing and revenue cycle activities. This role focuses on submitting accurate claims, posting payments, and performing routine follow-up for OCHIN billing and CalAIM services, including Enhanced Care Management (ECM), Recuperative Care, Community Supports (CS), and Detox services.
You will work closely with clinical, administrative, and program teams to support efficient workflows and timely reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitorbilling work queues daily to help ensure claims aresubmittedwithin required timelines and guidelines
- Prepare andsubmitclaims for OCHIN billing, ECM, Recuperative Care, Detox, and other service lines
- Review claims for completeness and accuracy to reduce denials and delays
- Maintainaccuratedocumentation of billing activity in the EHR and payer systems
- Post payments and perform basic reconciliation of claims and encounters
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and escalate more complex issues to the Revenue Cycle Analyst II
- Contact payers to check claim status and resolve routine denials or payment questions
- Respond to basic billing inquiries from staff, patients, and payers
- Helpidentifymissing documentation and follow up withappropriate departments
- Partner with clinical and administrative teams to resolve routine billing discrepancies
- Support data tracking and reporting related to revenue cycle performance
- Participatein audits, chart reviews, and compliance activities as assigned
- Maintain working knowledge of billing and coding requirements, including CPT, ICD-10, and payer guidelines
- Attend trainings and meetings related to revenue cycle operations
- Complete required trainingsand policy acknowledgements on time
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of medical billing or revenue cycle experience
- Familiarity with Medi-Cal or Medicaid billing processes
- Experience using electronic health records and payer portals
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience billing forCalAIMprograms such as Enhanced Care Management (ECM), Community Supports, or Recuperative Care
- Familiarity with OCHIN Epic or similar community health EHR platforms
- Experience working with Medi-Cal managed care plans and DHCS portals
- Exposure to claim denial trends, basic root-cause review, or revenue cycle reporting
- Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), community clinic, or nonprofit healthcare setting
- Bilingual or multilingual skills that support communication with diverse patient populations
Work Schedule
Full-time position, Monday through Friday during standard business hours. Occasional flexibility may be needed for off-site meetings or trainings. Work is primarily office-based at the Health Center, with occasional presence in areas where healthcare services are provided.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay is based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The anticipated starting salary range for this role is $30.27 - $34.81 per year.
