We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Part-Time Medical Assistant/Front Desk professional to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and facilitate smooth check-in processes using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Collect patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration, ensuring accurate documentation for medical records.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures including intake assessments, medication administration, and basic physiology support.
- Prepare examination rooms by sterilizing equipment and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures like X-ray or minor treatments.
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient flow, and follow-up communications to optimize clinic efficiency.
- Support medical documentation by coding diagnoses with ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes and updating patient records precisely.
- Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing patient inquiries, verifying insurance information, and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Assist in emergency situations by supporting basic life support protocols and coordinating with clinical staff during urgent care or trauma cases at Level I or Level II trauma centers.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area while adhering to infection control protocols specific to dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or other specialties.
Experience
- Prior experience working in outpatient clinics or hospital settings is highly preferred, especially within urgent care, internal medicine, or emergency medicine environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology enhances patient care delivery.
- Experience with EHR systems is essential for efficient documentation and record management.
- Familiarity with ICD coding practices and medication administration procedures is advantageous.
