Residential Security Officer
Location: Chicago, IL
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule:
- Saturday–Sunday: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Monday–Wednesday: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Job Summary: Seeking a reliable and professional Residential Security Officer to join our team in the Chicagoland area. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist with the safety and security of residents while providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will be experienced in security operations, have strong communication skills, and be able to handle various tasks such as package management, answering phones, announcing deliveries, making rounds, and handling emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control access to the building.
- Handle packages and deliveries, including receiving, storing, and notifying residents of their arrivals.
- Answer phones, take messages, and provide information to residents and visitors.
- Announce deliveries and visitors to tenants.
- Conduct regular patrols and security rounds of the building and surrounding areas.
- Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, alarms, and incidents, providing assistance and coordinating with local authorities if necessary.
- Maintain accurate and detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, and security concerns.
- Assist residents with their inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
- Enforce building rules and regulations to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
Qualifications:
- 20-Hour Certificate: Completion of a 20-hour security training course.
- PERC Card: Ability to obtain a valid Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a security or similar role preferred.
- Ability to stay alert and focused during overnight shifts.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle emergencies calmly and professionally.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Ability to respond quickly to any incidents or emergencies.
Qualifications
- 20-Hour Certificate: Completion of a 20-hour security training course.

- High School Diploma: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Drug Screening and Background Check: Must pass a drug screening and background check.

- Physical Fitness: Physically capable of standing or walking for up to 8 hours per shift.
