Armed Floater Security Officer
Location: Philadelphia, PA & Surrounding Suburbs
Employment Type: Part-Time/Full-Time (Flexible)
Schedule: Must be available on weekends
Pay Rate: $21.50 per hour
Position Summary
We are looking for highly professional Armed Floater Security Officers to support multiple client sites across Philadelphia and nearby suburban areas. This role requires flexibility, strong situational awareness, and the ability to adapt to different environments. Floaters fill in for scheduled coverage, call-outs, special assignments, and high-priority posts as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must meet all of the following:
- Valid Pennsylvania Act 235 Certification (Active & up to date)
- Previous armed security experience
- Reliable personal vehicle for travel to various sites
- Personal duty firearm
- Level 2 or higher retention holster
- Mandatory weekend availability
- Ability to pass background checks
- Professional appearance and clean, well-maintained uniform
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide armed security coverage at assigned locations, often with minimal notice
- Maintain high visibility and deterrence through active patrols (foot and/or vehicle)
- Control access to buildings and monitor site entrances
- Observe, report, and respond to suspicious activities or security concerns
- Complete detailed written reports, incident documentation, and daily activity logs
- Interact professionally with clients, employees, and the public
- Enforce site rules, policies, and regulations in a calm and respectful manner
- Assist during emergencies, alarms, evacuations, and high-risk situations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and other officers
- Follow all company procedures, safety protocols, and use-of-force guidelines
Position Expectations
- Must be comfortable working independently or as part of a team
- Must be able to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods
- Ability to handle high-stress or fast-paced environments
- Punctuality and reliability are essential
- Willingness to work at different sites, including:

- Special events and temporary assignments
