Access Control Security Officer

Location: Cleveland, OH

Job Type: Full-Time | Part-Time

Schedule: 6am-2pm | Saturdays 6am-2pm

Pay: $15.51 per hour

Position Summary:

We are hiring professional, observant, and reliable Access Control Security Officers to help maintain a safe and secure environment at a controlled entry site. This position plays a critical role in managing entry and exit points, verifying identification, and conducting vehicle inspections or mobile patrols.

The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and comfortable interacting with employees, visitors, and contractors in a courteous, professional manner. A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required, as officers may be responsible for operating company or site vehicles to conduct patrols or perimeter checks.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Access Control & Verification:

• Manage all vehicle and pedestrian entry/exit points to the facility or community.
• Check and verify IDs, driver’s licenses, work badges, delivery paperwork, or visitor passes.
• Ensure only authorized personnel, contractors, and guests enter the property.
• Operate security gates, barriers, and access control systems safely.

Patrolling & Surveillance:

• Conduct mobile and foot patrols around the property and perimeter.
• Inspect gates, doors, fences, and lighting for signs of tampering or damage.
• Monitor security cameras and alarm systems to identify suspicious activity.
• Respond immediately to incidents, alarms, or calls for assistance.

Reporting & Communication:

• Maintain detailed and accurate daily activity, vehicle log, and incident reports.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, site managers, and emergency responders when required.
• Provide accurate information to drivers, visitors, and delivery personnel in a professional manner.

Customer Service & Professionalism:

• Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, vendors, and employees.
• Provide clear directions and assistance while maintaining firm control of site policies.

Safety & Emergency Response:

• Follow site-specific safety procedures and emergency protocols.
• Assist with traffic flow and vehicle safety near access gates or entry points.
• Report safety hazards, mechanical issues, or security breaches immediately.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid, current driver’s license with clean driving record (required).
• Valid OH security guard license or guard card.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Previous experience in security, access control, customer service, or law enforcement preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to remain alert throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation.
