Position Summary
St. Marys Galaxy Food Center is seeking an experienced and dependable Meat Department Manager to lead our meat department. The Meat Department Manager will oversee daily operations, ensure high-quality products and excellent customer service, manage inventory and ordering, and lead and train department employees.
Essential Duties
- Oversee the daily operations of the meat department.
- Supervise, schedule, train, and motivate meat department employees.
- Cut, trim, and prepare beef, pork, poultry, and other meat products as needed.
- Ensure products are fresh, properly packaged, labeled, priced, and displayed.
- Monitor inventory and place orders based on sales and department needs.
- Control product costs, shrink, and waste.
- Maintain appropriate product levels and attractive displays.
- Ensure compliance with food-safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Maintain and inspect meat-cutting equipment and report maintenance needs.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer requests or concerns.
- Monitor department sales and work toward achieving sales and profitability goals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Ensure proper rotation and storage of all meat products.
- Perform other duties as assigned by store management.
Qualifications
- Previous meat-cutting experience required; supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of meat cutting, preparation, storage, and merchandising.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain meat department equipment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer-service skills.
- Ability to train and develop employees.
- Ability to manage inventory, ordering, and product rotation.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift and move meat products as needed.
Schedule
Full-Time
Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
Compensation
Pay: Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
