St. Mary’s Health System for Children, in Bayside, Queens, NY, seeks a Systems Administrator to join our IT department to support and build new cloud and in-house infrastructure solutions in support of our clinical and business operations. This role is critical to fulfilling our mission of improving the lives of children with complex medical conditions and their families.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and network equipment.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of IT services.
- Manage Active Directory, user accounts, permissions, and workstation setups.
- Configure and maintain DNS servers, DHCP services, and IP address management.
- Implement and maintain security protocols, firewalls, and encryption standards.
- Perform regular backups and manage disaster recovery plans.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
- Support and manage Wyse thin clients and virtual desktop environments.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and apply system upgrades.
- Document processes, configurations, and IT policies.
- Support IT projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- 10 years of experience in Systems Administration
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN) and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, Microsoft Teams Telephony, Azure, VMware, and Citrix virtualization.
- Hands-on experience with load balancers, Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Access points, and HPE routing & switching.
- Expertise in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and group policy management.
- Familiarity with Wyse thin clients and VDI environments.
- Scripting and automation using PowerShell.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, patch management, and SIEM tools.
