Position Overview
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs comprehensive ultrasound examinations in accordance with ARDMS standards and established clinical protocols.
Responsibilities Include
- Performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations per physician orders
- Preparing and positioning patients to obtain optimal imaging
- Reviewing patient history and relevant clinical information
- Applying independent clinical judgment to capture anatomical and pathological findings
- Evaluating exams for technical quality and completeness
- Operating and maintaining ultrasound equipment
- Maintaining accurate documentation and imaging records
- Adhering to HIPAA, infection control, and regulatory guidelines
- Collaborating with radiologists and healthcare professionals
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program (CAAHEP preferred)
- ARDMS registered or registry eligible required
- Minimum of six months of clinical experience preferred
- BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
- Strong attention to detail and independent decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- $36.00 – $40.00 per hour, based on experience and credentials
