Position Overview
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs positron emission tomography procedures in accordance with established protocols, regulatory standards, and radiation safety guidelines.
Responsibilities Include
- Preparing and positioning patients for PET examinations
- Operating PET imaging equipment with precision and adherence to protocol
- Administering radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with safety standards
- Monitoring patients during imaging procedures
- Applying aseptic techniques and infection control practices
- Reviewing images for quality and completeness
- Maintaining detailed documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Collaborating with radiologists and referring providers to support accurate diagnostic interpretation
Qualifications
- Certification or licensure in Nuclear Medicine Technology or PET
- Experience performing PET examinations required
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Solid understanding of diagnostic evaluation processes
- Knowledge of radiation safety and infection control standards
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication skills
