Position Overview And Responsibilities
The School Custodian, under the general supervision of the shift supervisor, maintains a clean, safe, and functional environment by performing cleaning, minor repairs, and event support duties. Key responsibilities include daily cleaning of floors, restrooms, and classrooms; managing trash disposal; performing light maintenance such as changing lightbulbs and unlocking doors; and assisting with event setups or groundskeeping tasks such as light snow removal. This is a full time hourly, second shift staff position; work hours are generally 2 to 10:30 pm. The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and commitment to safety protocols for both staff and students. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.

Education and Experience
- A high school graduate or higher preferred
- A valid driver’s license and MVR required
- General trade knowledge helpful
- At least 2-3 years of experience in a building trade such as carpentry, painting, masonry, electrical, or a combination of training and education
- Standing/sitting for long periods of time.
- Bending, lifting, pushing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, stooping.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to reach at and above shoulder height to access higher areas of equipment, etc.
- Must be capable of adapting to frequent changes in position throughout the workday.
- Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone.
- Use of hands and fingers for manipulation, and using computer keyboard, educational tools, play equipment, and perform first aid and CPR.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
