Summary
The Executive Director of Physician Network provides strategic and operational leadership for physician recruitment, onboarding, development, and network optimization at St. Clair Health. This role partners closely with physician, medical group, hospital, and GME leadership to ensure the organization attracts, retains, and effectively integrates high-performing providers aligned with system goals.
The Executive Director is responsible for advancing physician network growth through data-driven market analysis, strategic business planning, and the development of innovative partnerships, affiliations, and compensation models. This leader ensures seamless onboarding and practice integration, drives physician productivity and performance, and supports the achievement of clinical, operational, and financial objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field of study.
- Five years of experience managing the operations of a large physician practice with multiple offices.
- A proven track record of leading high-performing teams, such as quality and cost management; developing new product offerings; and implementing new service delivery models in the managed care payer market.
- Previous experience in various healthcare administrative capacities showing demonstrated progressive management responsibility and a thorough knowledge of healthcare delivery systems; managed care, and standards and legal guidelines impacting healthcare.
- Knowledge of managed care and medical informatics including understanding the perspectives of the physician/ provider/ payer.
- Previous experience designing models for effective improvement of clinical outcomes and cost management.
- Strong managerial, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
1. MD, DO, or other clinical background strongly preferred
2. Experience working within an integrated delivery system, academic medical center, or community hospital setting
3. Familiarity with Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs and physician pipeline development
4. Demonstrated success in:
a. Practice acquisitions and physician affiliation integration
b. Market growth strategy and service line development
c. Designing physician incentive programs and leadership metrics
5. Experience optimizing physician productivity and aligning performance with organizational goals
6. Advanced expertise in healthcare market analysis and program development
7. Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving physicians, administration, and external partners
