Job Title: GIS Technician

Location: Bethesda, Maryland (On-site)

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented professional who will support our team by collecting, analyzing, and managing geographic data for use in specialized applications. Our team values collaboration and accuracy as we work to ensure all spatial data meets organizational needs and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Collect and compile geographic data from a variety of sources, including maps, surveys, and satellite images.
• Digitize and maintain geographic data within relevant databases and software platforms.
• Create, update, and ensure the quality of custom maps and GIS layers using appropriate technology.
• Coordinate with internal teams to implement and support GIS projects and provide technical assistance where necessary.
  
  

Required

• Bachelor's degree in geography, GIS, Smallworld, or a related field; alternatively, strong certifications in GIS/GWD considered.
• Proficiency in GIS software, databases, and related technical tools as outlined in the position overview.
• Attention to detail and proven ability to conduct quality control checks on geographical data.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively on project goals.
