What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Law Paralegal position at SR Staffing?
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Family Law Paralegal to support attorneys in handling cases involving divorce, child custody, support, adoption, and other family law matters. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of family law procedures, and the ability to manage sensitive client information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management:
- Organize and maintain case files, including financial records, custody agreements, and court documents.
- Monitor deadlines and ensure timely filings with family courts.
Client Support:
- Communicate with clients to gather personal and financial information.
- Provide updates and assist clients with procedural questions.
Legal Documentation:
- Draft pleadings, motions, declarations, subpoenas, and discovery documents.
- Prepare financial disclosures, parenting plans, and marital settlement agreements.
Court & Trial Preparation:
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation including exhibit organization, witness coordination, and trial binders.
- File documents electronically and coordinate service of process.
Research & Analysis:
- Conduct legal research on family law statutes and case law.
- Summarize findings and assist with strategy development.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and/ or Paralegal certification
- 3 years of experience in family law
- Familiarity with family court procedures and e-filing systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of empathy and professionalism when dealing with sensitive matters.
- Experience with case management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase).
- Knowledge of local family court rules and procedures.
- Ability to handle emotionally charged situations with discretion and tact.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
