Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair machinery and mechanical equipment, including motors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and production machines, by following diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using precision measuring and testing instruments, always adhering to safe work practices.
- Monitor and observe mechanical and electrical devices in operation to assess performance and determine maintenance needs, supporting preventive maintenance and continuous improvement programs.
- Develop a thorough understanding of plant systems and their functions to ensure reliable production operations.
- Carry and maintain necessary hand tools throughout the work shift and utilize company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Operate man lifts, ladders, and safety harnesses to perform repairs at various heights, including work on cranes, lighting, wiring, rooftop units, HVAC systems, and coolers.
- Manage parts inventory by signing out and tracking parts needed for maintenance and repairs.
- Complete repairs efficiently using standard electrical and mechanical troubleshooting methodologies.
- Participate in and contribute to team-based continuous improvement projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support facility operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of industrial maintenance experience or related field.
- Basic understanding of machinery, factory operations, schematics, and blueprints.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Experience with welding and torch operations.
- Familiarity with AC and DC electrical systems; experience with controls and PLC systems is a plus.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Familiarity with ISO standards.
- Good manual dexterity and ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and lift up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to temperature extremes and foundry environments.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE, including hardhat, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and hearing protection.
