Job Summary
The Night Audit / Front Desk Associate is responsible for checking figures, postings, and documents for accuracy. This role involves recording, storing, accessing, and analyzing computerized financial information. A key component of the position is controlling and securing cash and cash equivalents for the property according to established cash handling policies and procedures. Additionally, the associate must organize, secure, and maintain all files and records in accordance with document retention and confidentiality policies.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression through excellent phone etiquette and guest relations.
- Check guests in and out efficiently using property management system, hospitality reservation systems.
- Handle all night audit procedures, including reconciling daily financial transactions, verifying billing accuracy, and preparing reports for management review.
- Respond promptly to guest requests, complaints, or emergencies with professionalism and problem-solving expertise.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to assist guests with inquiries about reservations, amenities, or local information.
- Maintain accurate records of all activities during the shift, including incident reports, shift logs, and audit documentation.
- Build positive relationships, support team goals, and respond thoughtfully to employee concerns.
- Follow brand standards and maintain quality.
Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality management or hotel front desk operations is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with hotel management software , property management systems (PMS).
- Strong customer service skills with an ability to handle guest interactions diplomatically across multiple languages; bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures and guest safety protocols.
- Experience working with multi-line phone systems and resort environments is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to solve customer service problems quickly and effectively while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Previous night audit experience or background in hospitality reservation systems will set you apart.
Qualification Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Experience: No related work experience or supervisory experience required.
- Technical Skills: Ability to learn and be proficient in property management systems (PMS) and digital documentation tools.
