Springhill Suites in Bloomington is looking for a hotel maintenance person
The main responsibilities include: To manage all property engineering and maintenance operations ensuring that preventive maintenance programs, daily work orders, and special projects are completed efficiently and with the highest quality as required by Management and the brand standards.
Please note***The working schedule is solely based upon the needs of the hotel business, meaning that the hours worked are directly affected by the hotel’s occupancy.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Practices customer service behaviors, such as listening, initiative, responsiveness, cheerfulness, accommodation, courtesy, honesty, and professionalism.
- Demonstrates positive Team spirit, providing assistance to other Team members as necessary to achieve required standards of productivity and guest care.
- Makes decisions in the best interest of the property and in compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
- Plans, organizes, and keeps an accurate record of preventive maintenance activities related to rooms, common areas, and equipment.
- Carries out basic preventive maintenance of rooms/common areas to maintain safety, working order, and overall appearance.
- Carries out basic preventive maintenance of equipment to maintain efficiency and prolonged equipment life.
- Rotates, replaces, or reprograms locks as appropriate.
- Prioritizes and carries out maintenance tasks as requested by guests, management, and other departments.
- Cleans, tests, and maintains pool and spa with maintenance of accurate and current logs.
- Keeps walks and entrances clear of snow and ice when applicable.
- Keeps common areas and grounds free of trash and empties internal/external trash receptacles.
- Maintains surrounding grounds, fences, walks, gates and walls and makes repairs when needed. Paints and maintains outer buildings when applicable.
- Provides General Manager with written or verbal reports on all short term and long term maintenance projects departmental supplies, water, and electricity.
- Ensures safe use of chemicals and equipment in accordance with the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and manufacturer’s instructions.
- Handles all guest complaints to customers’ satisfaction and relays information to the supervisor.
- Abides by all rules of Management.
- Keeps all company business confidential – either while on or off property.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
