What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time LMSCordinator position at Springfield Technical Community College?
Part Time LMS Coordinator Under the general supervision of the
Blackboard Administrator, the part-time LMS Coordinator provides
administrative and technical support for our Blackboard learning
management system. This position serves as a critical point of contact
for faculty and students, helping to ensure smooth operation of the LMS
system and positive user experiences. The LMS Coordinator will respond
to support inquiries, assist with course setup and troubleshooting, and
provide guidance on the effective use of Blackboard tools and features.
In addition, this position will provide backup support when the primary
Blackboard Administrator is unavailable. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide
technical support for Blackboard users, responding to inquiries in
person and by email, chat, phone, and ticketing system. Help students
learn and navigate the Blackboard learning management system, schedule
training opportunities to acclimate students with online learning tools.
Collaborate with the Blackboard Administrator on system maintenance
tasks and testing new features and integrations. In partnership with the
Blackboard Administrator, create, update, and maintain user guides,
tutorials, training documentation and videos for students and faculty.
Work closely with the IT Help Desk to escalate and resolve technical
issues impacting students and faculty. Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements: Minimum one year of experience using Blackboard or similar
academic LMS system as a student, faculty, or administrator. Basic
technical troubleshooting skills to assist with login issues, system
navigation, browser compatibility, and file upload errors. Basic
knowledge of operating systems (Windows10/11/Apple OS), presentation
software (Power Point, Google Slides) and online collaboration tools
(Google Workspace, Zoom). Ability to prioritize and multitask especially
during periods of high volume. Comfortable working independently as well
as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Customer service orientation with a friendly and patient demeanor.
Ability to manage time and tasks independently. SUPERVISORY
