What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metal Fabricator/Welder position at Springfield Sign?
SUMMARY
As a Welder/Fabricator you will fabricate signs for local and national accounts using hand welding or flame cutting equipment. Must work in accordance with safety standards to ensure all local, state and federal regulatory agencies requirements are met, OSHA 1910, NFPA, DNR. Must ensure all quality standards are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Receive direction through management of station backlog to effectively meet deadlines and responsibilities for the station
· Use of material handling equipment (forklifts, overhead cranes, jib cranes, post cranes, standup forklifts, etc.)
· Use of basic hand tools and powered tools
· Aluminum fabrication and Mig welding
· Read drawings and blueprints to construct signage
· Basic mathematical and measuring skills
· Lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
· Desire to learn about the sign industry
REQUIREMENTS
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Minimum three years’ experience in fabrication/welding
· Regular, predictable and reliable attendance
· Requiring hours of service that would average at least 40 hours of service per week (full time) with possible overtime
· Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Globally Harmonized System (GHS) labels, Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
· Ability to work with computers and software systems
· Must wear all personal protective equipment PPE
· Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stooping, twist, reach, reach overhead
· Must be able to lift 0-50lbs. frequently
· Accuracy and attention to detail
PREFERRED
· Welding certification from an accredited institution
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
