POSITION:
Springfield Summer High School Program Teacher, Grades 9-12; 1 position per session (2 sessions)
LOCATION:
The Eve Harris Educ. Complex
HOURS:
Approximately 22-25 hours per week
DATES:
Program Length:
- Session 1: June 8-June 18 2026 (Mondays-Thursdays Virtual Fridays)
- Session 2: June 22-July 3 2026 (Mondays-Thursdays Virtual Fridays) no programs scheduled on July 4th
Student Program Hours: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Teacher Hours: 8:45 AM - 2:15 PM
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid and appropriate teaching certificate/license from the State of Ohio.
- Knowledge of OTES (Ohio Teacher Evaluation System) 2.0 domains for effective teaching.
- Knowledge of the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession.
- Knowledge of Ohio’s Learning Standards and learner outcomes associated with Cambium Assessments.
- Knowledge of the PLP platform and its applications
- Knowledge of Google Applications.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
- Willingness to meet the needs of all students (e.g. at-risk, high achieving, special education).
- Experience working with a culturally diverse student population preferred.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend the program orientation meeting.
- Prepares materials and inventories equipment and supplies, as needed.
- Complete other assigned operational tasks before and after the program such as station preparation and clean up.
- Organize and lead a variety of small group activities as developed by the Program Coordinator and Director of Curriculum.
- Assumes responsibility for supervision of students and for attendance accounting.
- Organize online courses and course work for students
- Communicates effectively with parents, staff members, and students.
- Report to the Program Coordinator.
- Ensure student safety and well-being.
- Other duties as assigned.
