Title: Anticipated Crissey Elem. Food Service (7 Hour) (7:00 AM - 2:00 AM)
Reports To: Building Principal, Director of Food Service, Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent
Employment Status: 9 Month – 180 days
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Willingness to work with students, staff and community members.
3. Record of good attendance and strong work ethic.
4. Evidence of good moral character as established in section 3301-20-03 of the Ohio Administrative Code.
5. Prior food service experience preferred.
6. A commitment to become a member of Food and Nutrition Organization for the future of the school’s food service program, when the opportunity is available.
7. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
8. Alternatives to the above qualifications that the Board of Education may find appropriate.
General Description:
Performs multiple food service tasks including meal preparation, set ups, cashiering, and clean up.
Essential Functions:
1. Assists in the preparation of food portions and prepares cafeteria.
2. Assists in daily clean up of kitchen and all food service area to include, but not limited to, cleaning of
food preparation and serving counters, food service equipment, and operation and cleaning of dish washing machine.
3. Serves students and staff from the cafeteria counter.
4. Maintains the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion in kitchens.
5. Assumes responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods.
6. Performs related duties as required including duties at special meal functions.
7. Use cash register or Point of Sale (POS) system to do lunchroom tabulation.
8. Performs any other assignments issued by the Director of Food Service or manager of that food service operation. (examples include but are not limited to: cooking, daily food prep, adjusting student
accounts, groceries, daily production sheets)
9. Communicates as needed with all staff to ensure a team approach to problem solving.
10. Helps maintain safety and security in the buildings.
11. Accesses and responds to electronic communication (i.e., website, email, voice mail,etc.) daily.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as responsible citizens.
2. Helps instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values.
3. Responsible for clocking in and out each day.
4. Reports absence or change in shift into online reporting system
5. Remains compliant with district policies regarding alcohol and substance use/abuse. (example: PO 4122.01 and PO 4170)
6. Conducts all work in a safe and responsible manner.
7. Conducts other duties as assigned by the Director of Food Service or the building principal.
Additional Working Conditions:
1. Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
2. Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions.
3. Occasional interaction among unruly children.
4. Regular requirement to reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, stoop and kneel.
5. Lift (50 pounds), carry, push and pull various supplies and materials.
6. Walking 2-3 miles per day.
7. Repetitive hand motion (e.g. serving...).
