Title: Lunch Room Monitor- Crissey Elementary (2 Hours)
Reports To: Building Principal, Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent
Employment Status: 9 Months
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Record of good attendance and strong work ethic.
3. Evidence of good moral character as established in section 3301-20-03 of the Ohio Administrative Code.
4. Ability to work with students, staff, and community members.
5. Willingness to participate in future training.
6. Willingness to follow the assigned work schedule.
7. Knowledge of safety regulations and precautions for the work environment.
8. Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate.
General Description:
Maintain a conducive environment in the lunchroom that promotes respect, responsibility, preparation and safety.
Essential Functions:
1. Supervises students during their lunch time.
2. Assists students with opening lunch items, answering questions and cleaning up.
3. Uses Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports to model and promote appropriate behavior throughout the lunch period.
4. Interacts and supervises students by walking around and assisting as needed.
5. Calls students at the appropriate time to go through cafeteria lines.
6. Works with the teachers, counselors, and administrators to provide consistency with rules and procedures.
7. Works as a team with kitchen staff and custodian to create a positive environment for all students and staff.
8. Communicates as needed with all staff to ensure a team approach to problem solving.
9. Helps maintain safety and security in the buildings.
10. Accesses and responds to electronic communication (i.e., website, email, voice mail,etc.) daily.
11. Responsible for attending to any matter deemed appropriate by the building principal.
12. Must attend training when offered by the district.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as responsible citizens.
2. Helps instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values.
3. Responsible for clocking in and out each day.
4. Reports absence into online reporting system
5. Remains compliant with district policies regarding alcohol and substance use/abuse. (example: PO 4122.01 and PO 4170)
6. Conducts all work in a safe and responsible manner.
7. Conducts other duties as assigned by the building principal.
Additional Working Conditions:
1. Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
2. Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions.
3. Occasional interaction among unruly children.
4. Regular requirements to reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, stoop and kneel.
5. Occasional lifting of 15-30 pounds.
6. Lift, carry, push and pull various supplies and materials.
7. Other duties as assigned which relate to the smooth operation of the playground and recess by the building principal and/or designee.
