What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mammography Technologist - Casual position at SPOONER HEALTH?
The Mammography Technologist performs high-quality mammographic examinations in accordance with physician orders, department protocols, and regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for ensuring patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality while producing diagnostic-quality images for interpretation by radiologists. Previous digital and breast imaging mammography experience preferred.
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures according to established protocols.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and addressing questions or concerns.
- Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Operate mammography equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain compliance with MQSA, ACR, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Review images for quality and completeness prior to radiologist interpretation.
- Document procedures and patient information accurately in the electronic medical record and radiology information systems.
- Maintain equipment and report any operational issues or concerns.
- Assist with breast localization and other specialized breast imaging procedures as required.
- Follow established radiation safety standards and infection prevention practices.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
- Provide compassionate and professional patient care at all times.
Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Licensure/Certification
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R).

ARRT certification in Mammography (M) or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Current Wisconsin Radiographer License (if applicable).
- Current BLS certification preferred.
