What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist - Full-time position at SPOONER HEALTH?
The Physical Therapist treats musculoskeletal and neuromuscular dysfunction using mechanical and physical means, according to Wisconsin’s Physical Therapy Practice Act. This role involves evaluating patients, developing and modifying care plans, providing treatments, and educating patients and families. This Physical Therapist’s caseload will consist primarily of a variety of diagnoses in an outpatient setting, with occasional need to provide services to our inpatient and swing bed patients.
- Evaluate musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and functional problems, identifying treatment needs.
- Develop and modify care plans, involving patients and families in goal setting.
- Provide physical therapy treatments, including modalities, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, and functional training.
- Educate patients, residents, and families about dysfunction, treatment, and wellness maintenance.
- Delegate tasks to physical therapy assistants and support staff, providing training and supervision.
- Accurately document patient progress according to CMS standards.
- Communicate with employers, rehabilitation consultants, and insurance companies regarding patient status.
- Participate in program development and contribute ideas and protocols.
Education: Graduation from an approved School of Physical Therapy with a Bachelor of Science, Master’s Degree, and/or Doctorate.
Licensure: Active Physical Therapy License from the State of Wisconsin or a permit from the examining board while awaiting state certification.
Other: Physical ability to push, reach, squat, and lift up to moderately heavy loads; ability to grip, squeeze, or pinch without restrictions.
