What are the responsibilities and job description for the Steward position at Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino?
The Steward is a part of the QSR team and is responsible for washing dishes, pots, etc., and ensuring their cleanliness throughout the Kitchen. May be assigned heavy cleaning as a part of closing the restaurant. The Steward is an important part of the efficient operation of Three Peaks and ensures safety, cleanliness and works toward our overall mission of exceeding our guests expectations.
- Practices, supports, and maintains the Mission, Vision and Values of Casino.
- Work as a member of a dish washing crew ensuring soiled items are placed in proper racks or containers which carry them through a dishwashing machine.
- Inspect, remove, and properly stores all clean items from the dish washing machine.
- Wash steam kettles, tilt fryers, and food preparation equipment too large to put in dishwashing machines.
- Supply dishware to food preparation stations as needed; removes soiled dishware and cooking equipment from food preparation stations.
- Keep work area (floor, machine, shelving, carts, etc.) clean always.
- Miscellaneous duties, such as polishing silver, working in store room and preparing for banquets, special events, etc., as assigned.
- Grave shift Stewards duties will include deep cleaning after hours such as buffing kitchen floors, cleaning fryers, cleaning hoods etc.
- The Steward must have ability to
- Operate in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, noise and vibration.
- To work in occasional hazardous areas such as wet floors.
- Ensure that proper precautions are taken.
- Provide their own non slip black kitchen shoes for work (uniforms provided by STC).
- Effectively and efficiently move around work area.
- Stand for majority of shift.
- Inspect all work performed.
- Lift and move of up to 50 pounds and move loads of up to 100 pounds so as to be able to restock all items as needed.
- Sort all silverware as needed.
- Perform other tasks assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- The skills necessary for this position are typically acquired through two months of on the job training or through related experience.
- Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance.
- Able and willing to work all shifts including, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong guest service and problem-solving skills.
- Able to Multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise, smoke, and temperature levels
