Could you see yourself joining our team?https://spinnakerresorts.com/home/spinnaker-careers/JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARYThe Controller will direct and oversee the financial activities for multiple HOA’s and the property management corporation, direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries and create forecasts predicting future growth. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLead the month-end close process for the Homeowners Association (HOA) entities and the property management company. Review and post journal entries; ensure compliance with corporate timelines and all related activities.Conduct post-close balance sheet and income statement reviews; oversee completion of reconciliation for balance sheet accounts, bank accounts, inter-company accounts.Review and maintain inter-company cost allocation schedule.Lead a team of an assistant controller, two staff accountants and an administrative assistant.Manage banking transactions; maintain steady cash flows across the HOA entities and the property management company.Responsible for reserves management and reporting.Responsible for the budgeting and forecasting process for 15 HOA entities and the property management company. Providing month-end reporting, variance analysis, reporting back and acting upon key action items.Responsible for annual billings associated with 15 HOA entities.Support the external audit process for the 15 HOA entities and the property management company.Oversee processing of cheque payments for Annual Maintenance fee collections.Oversee insurance claims for HOA’s and property management entities.Manage the capital budgeting and reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable for all HOA’s and the property management company.Responsible for presenting Quarterly financial statements to senior leadership and external boards (in person). KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREDBachelor’s degree in accounting. (CPA preferred)7 years of related experience including management.Dependable and ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week in office.additional hours may be required to ensure deadlines are met and to support projectsAbility to travel to external board meetingsComputer knowledge and experience with MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
