Role Description The Payroll Coordinator is a full-time, on-site position located in Pasadena, TX. This role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, including collecting and verifying timekeeping data, entering and updating employee information, and processing regular and off-cycle payroll runs accurately and on schedule. The Payroll Coordinator will calculate wages, deductions, and benefits, ensure accurate handling of garnishments and payroll taxes, and reconcile payroll reports with accounting records. Daily responsibilities include maintaining payroll records, responding to employee payroll inquiries, coordinating with HR and Accounting on new hires and terminations, and supporting audits and compliance reporting. The role also assists in improving payroll procedures, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive data, and supporting special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong payroll administration and payroll processing skills, with experience managing end-to-end payroll cycles.
- Working knowledge of garnishments and related compliance requirements.
- Experience with payroll taxes, including calculations, reporting, and regulatory deadlines.
- Basic to intermediate accounting skills, including reconciliations and journal entries related to payroll.
- Proficiency with payroll software and MS Office (especially Excel) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- High attention to detail, strong numerical aptitude, and the ability to maintain accuracy under deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach to employee inquiries.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and adhere to company policies and legal requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in payroll, accounting, or HR in an industrial, manufacturing, or distribution environment is a plus.
