Staarland Career Design Consulting is pleased to partner with a longstanding Houston charter institution seeking an experienced Payroll & Business Services Coordinator. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to payroll operations, financial integrity, and business office excellence within a collaborative educational environment.

What You'll Do

• Process semi-monthly payroll and maintain payroll records.

• Support reconciliations, deposits, purchasing, and vendor documentation.

• Assist with payroll taxes, W-2s, Form 941 reporting, and compliance.

• Support audits, financial reporting, and internal controls.

• Partner with HR and leadership to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of five years of payroll, accounting, finance, or business office experience.

• Experience processing payroll and maintaining payroll records.

• Knowledge of payroll taxes, W-2s, Form 941, deductions, benefits, and wage calculations.

• Experience with bank reconciliations, deposits, and financial documentation.

• Strong Excel and financial systems proficiency.

Highly Preferred

• Texas public school, charter school, nonprofit, or governmental finance experience.

• School finance experience strongly preferred.

• Experience with Skyward Qmlativ or similar ERP/payroll systems.

• Familiarity with TRS, TEA, IRS payroll reporting, and school finance compliance.

• Experience supporting audits and leadership reporting.

• CPP or FPC certification preferred.
