Position Summary
Demonstrates expertise in executing complex tasks across diverse assignments, consistently delivering high-quality results. Proficient at analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving highly complex technical issues with innovative and effective solutions. Applies advanced problem-solving skills and technical knowledge to overcome challenges, often serving as a key resource and mentor within the team. Through this position the successful applicant will join a growing team of hydrogeologists and engineers working to develop water supplies within our region (TX, AR, OK, LA, MS), including both surface water supplies and groundwater supplies. The position will require teamwork to complete field and office-based analyses and projects, including well siting, construction oversight, and water resources reporting/accounting and permitting. Familiarity with local and regional water development permitting processes is preferred. Applicant will be required to oversee work of staff, and will be mentored by the Spheros Regional Director.

Key Responsibilities
- Serves as a subject matter expert, provides technical leadership, and stays current on emerging technologies and best practices.
- Leads and performs field work, data collection, quality control, and report preparation (including mapping/visualization and regulatory submissions).
- Oversees technical work of other scientists to ensure deliverables are accurate, high quality, and compliant with safety and company standards.
- Communicates technical concepts clearly to clients, leadership, and peers; often serves as primary or senior author.
- Develops new tools, ideas, and approaches to enhance technical work and project delivery.
- Develops project scopes, monitors progress, manages schedules and budgets, and prepares project updates for leadership and clients.
- Manages subcontractors and may serve as Project Manager or Technical PM.
- Contributes to business development efforts through proposal development and client relationship building.
- Participates in industry thought leadership (publications, peer review, networking events).
- Trains and mentors staff; provides feedback and supports professional growth of team members.
- Leads initiatives focused on improving efficiency, operations, and customer service.
- Collaborates with leadership on financial planning, budgeting, and revenue forecasting.
Years of Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, Master's or Doctoral degree preferred.
- 10 years of experience.
- Professional licensure as an engineer or geologist, or ability to attain licensure within a reasonable period of time
- Valid Driver’s License.
