Role Description The Material Handler role at Spherion is a full-time, on-site position based in Saginaw, MI. In this role, the Material Handler is responsible for safely moving, loading, and unloading materials, products, and supplies throughout the facility. Daily tasks include supporting shipping and receiving operations, organizing and staging materials, assisting with packing and labeling, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The Material Handler will operate basic material handling equipment as needed, follow established safety protocols, and work closely with warehouse and production teams to ensure efficient workflow. The position requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Material Handling and Unloading to safely move and stage products and supplies.
- Candidates should possess skills in Shipping & Receiving to support incoming and outgoing orders and documentation.
- Candidates should possess skills in Inventory Control to track, count, and record stock accurately.
- Candidates should possess skills in Packing to prepare, label, and secure items for shipment or storage.
- Relevant skills and qualifications include basic math and computer skills, ability to lift and carry materials as required by the role, attention to safety procedures, and strong organizational skills.
- Previous warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing experience and familiarity with material handling equipment (such as pallet jacks or forklifts) are beneficial.
