EXTRUSION SUPERVISOR

We're seeking a dedicated Extrusion Supervisor to lead our film extrusion operations on third shift.
You'll manage a team of 5-6 associates, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality film products.
You'll report to the Plant Manager, and you'll use your mechanical aptitude and leadership skills to drive continuous improvement and optimize machine performance.

Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Supervise daily production activities, lead shift huddles, and coordinate break coverage to ensure continuous line operation.
Operations Management: Oversee the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of extrusion machinery to maintain consistent quality and efficiency.
Personnel Development: Assign tasks based on skill levels, and provide coaching, mentoring, and training to support team growth and a positive work environment.
Quality & Safety: Conduct quality inspections using precision tools (micrometers, heat sealers) and ensure all personnel strictly adhere to PPE and safety protocols.
Process Improvement: Implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and collaborate with maintenance and cross-functional teams to minimize downtime.
Documentation: Maintain accurate production metrics, quality logs, and daily reports.

Working hours: 5:45 PM - 6:00 AM

Skills:
Industry Experience: Prior experience in film extrusion or related plastics processes like blow molding or injection molding.
Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with automation control systems.
Operational Skills: Ability to safely operate forklifts and other production equipment.
Efficiency Expertise: Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to improve workflow.
Logistics: Experience supporting materials handling, warehouse operations, and inventory management.

Education:
High School

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrated hands-on experience in manufacturing environments.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in basic math (fractions, decimals) and the ability to use precision measuring instruments.
Physical Ability: Capability to lift or manipulate items over 50 pounds and remain constantly active/mobile throughout the facility.
Communication: Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Availability: Overnight shift availability.
