Position: Project Engineer

About this Role and About You
The Project Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of assigned major capital projects across multiple Southeast sites. This role interfaces directly with all levels of the organization to achieve desired objectives and will manage/lead Project Execution Teams, Consultants, and Contractors.
In This Role, You Will
- Manage and support multiple capital projects ranging from $15K to $5M.
- Lead larger capital studies/projects through front-end loading (FEL) development, including options assessment, feasibility studies, basic and detailed engineering, procurement, and construction.
- Ensure appropriate project resourcing, including securing outsourced engineering, procurement, and construction support as required.
- Direct integration of project engineering and technical activities in support of turnarounds, reliability projects, and production improvements.
- Support programs and management systems such as reliability-centered maintenance, process safety management, mechanical integrity, preventive and predictive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote and uphold policies to ensure facilities operate in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Incorporate safety, health, and environmental best practices into all engineering and project management activities while ensuring adherence to engineering standards and principles.
Capital Planning and Budget Management
- Provide technical and engineering support, including conducting engineering studies and developing capital cost estimates.
Environmental, Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Follow all Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures.
- Report all EH&S incidents (injuries, near misses, releases) immediately.
- Complete all required EH&S training in a timely manner.
- Adhere to facility and corporate EH&S practices at all times.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for continuous improvement of EH&S programs.
A Successful Candidate Has
Knowledge & Experience:
- B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of Project Engineering and Project Management experience in chemical manufacturing, refining, or similar industrial environments (PMP is a plus).
- Working knowledge of industry codes and standards (ASME B31.1/31.3, ASME BPVC Section I/VIII, API, NACE, CSA, etc.).
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
- Solid understanding of industrial-scale processing equipment.
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative engineering solutions.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple departments to meet company objectives.
