A leading EPC and utility infrastructure construction firm is seeking a Cost Analyst to support major electrical utility projects. The company specializes in full turnkey project execution across Transmission & Distribution (T&D), substations, grid modernization, and other critical power infrastructure projects supporting utility clients across the U.S.
This role will support ongoing utility infrastructure programs and work closely with project management, finance, and operations teams to ensure accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. The position will operate in a hybrid capacity supporting a major utility client office in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project costs for large-scale electrical utility and infrastructure projects from initiation through closeout
- Track and monitor capital and operational expenditures against approved budgets
- Perform cost analysis, financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and accrual reporting
- Develop and implement tools and reporting processes to improve cost visibility and project tracking
- Assist in establishing financial controls, compliance procedures, and cost management policies
- Support client accrual processes and improve reporting accuracy and timelines
- Assist with implementation and transition efforts for new financial and project management systems
- Partner cross-functionally with project teams, finance, scheduling, and client stakeholders to maintain financial visibility across active utility projects
Qualifications
- Experience supporting electrical utility, T&D, substation, or infrastructure construction projects
- Strong background in cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Working knowledge of Power BI and advanced Excel required
- Experience with PowerPlan is strongly preferred
- Ability to manage and analyze large project datasets with strong attention to detail
- Experience working in fast-paced project environments with multiple stakeholders
- Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 is highly preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
