Quality Manager – Utility-Scale Solar Construction

About the Role
We are seeking a Quality Manager to support a large-scale utility-scale solar construction project. This is a highly field-focused role requiring a strong civil construction background and hands-on experience overseeing day-to-day site activities.
The ideal candidate will have experience acting as an owner’s representative and will be comfortable working in a boots-on-the-ground environment, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance throughout all phases of civil construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site owner’s representative, overseeing daily project execution and field activities
- Maintain a strong field presence and supervise installers and subcontractors throughout construction activities
- Oversee civil scopes including roads, grading, earthwork, and excavations
- Perform field inspections, monitor workmanship quality, and document construction progress
- Prepare reports and communicate updates to project leadership and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements
- Identify and help resolve field issues in collaboration with site teams
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all site activities
Required Qualifications
- Strong background in civil construction with direct experience in:
- Roads
- Grading
- Earthwork
- Excavations
- Prior experience serving as an owner’s representative or similar field oversight role
- Experience supporting utility-scale solar projects strongly preferred
- Ability to work full-time on-site in an active construction environment
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage field activities and work effectively with contractors and site personnel
Certifications
- OSHA 30 preferred (OSHA 10 acceptable)
- NFPA 70E certification required/preferred
Preferred Experience
- Utility-scale renewable energy construction projects
- Field quality oversight and contractor management
- Civil inspection and construction documentation/reporting
