The Spencer East Brookfield Regional School District is looking to hire a dynamic and qualified School Year Secretary to join the David Prouty High School team. The school secretary position is a 35 hour per week; school year position with additional time as requested by the Principal and approved by the Superintendent of Schools. RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):
- Organize, maintain, track, and copy student files and records
- Data entry and retrieval of student records and information via PowerSchool
- Maintain student attendance, tardiness, and dismissals, run reports, and update principal
- Assist students, parents, and others by telephone or in person with general school related inquiries
- Maintain office supplies and forms
- Maintain confidentiality of student records information
- Be a team player who contributes positively to the school culture and climate.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, word processing, google, emails, and database programming
- Ability to access and use the internet
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal/written) skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to the needs of parents, students, principal, and staff
- Prepares correspondence, newsletters, notices, and a variety of materials for distribution to students, staff, and parents
- Prepares and submits bills for payments
- Coordinates events such as graduation, field trips, and other events.
- Assist with MCAS preparation and test administration
- Involved with student dismissals, changes of dismissals, and release of children
- Responds to walk-in, telephone, and doorbell communication/interaction in a timely, positive, and responsive way
- Collect, review, and report data for emergency drills as required
- Other school office duties including working with children, parents, and staff
- Perform any other related duties that are deemed appropriate by the principal
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all proprietary daily office activities.
